Scripture Reading:
“Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.”  Acts 8:4 (NIV)

When Stephen, the first martyr for Christ, was stoned to death for boldly proclaiming the Gospel, it appeared to be a devastating loss for the early church. Yet Scripture tells us something remarkable followed.

“Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him… But those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word” (Acts 8:2, 4).

Instead of retreating in fear, the believers advanced with faith. The death meant to silence their message only amplified it. The devil may have meant to extinguish their flame, but God used it to ignite a wildfire of revival across the land. What the enemy believed was a victory turned into mission expansion.

The same is true today. When a faithful servant like Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September 2025, evil rejoiced—briefly. Yet even as the enemy plotted to silence a voice, God raised up a choir. Churches overflowed. Hearts turned toward heaven. The message of Christ rang louder than before. Like the early believers, the Church did not shrink back. Instead, it stood taller, prouder, bolder—faith refined by fire.

The cross of Jesus Christ proved that Satan’s greatest strike was his final defeat (Genesis 3:15). The head of the serpent was crushed under the heel of our Savior. When the enemy silences one messenger, a thousand more rise to carry the banner of truth.

That raises a question for you and me: Are we willing to live—and, if necessary, die—for the truth of the risen Christ? The disciples were not deceived dreamers; they were eyewitnesses of resurrection power. Who would die for a lie? Not one of them did. They gave their lives because they knew the One who conquered death still lives.

So, believer, do not cower before the roar of darkness. The righteous are bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). This is our time to rise—to proclaim Jesus as Lord with clarity and courage, wherever we are scattered. Let the wilderness hear the sound of your voice declaring the Good News of Christ!

Reflect & Pray:
Lord, give me the courage of Stephen and the boldness of the early church. Help me remember that every attempt by the enemy to silence Your truth only causes it to spread further. May I never fear man, but live to make Your name known. Amen.

Thought for Today:
The louder the darkness tries to shout, the brighter your light can shine. It’s time for the Church to roar.
