Scripture Reading:
“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

What do Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, Zechariah and Elizabeth, and King David all have in common? True—they all served the one true and living God. But they also shared a spiritual discipline that tests every believer: they all had to wait on God.

  • Abraham and Sarah waited twenty‑five years for the child of promise.

  • Joseph endured thirteen years of slavery and injustice before becoming Pharaoh’s second‑in‑command.

  • Jacob served seven years for Rachel—only to be deceived and serve seven more.

  • Zechariah and Elizabeth spent decades childless before God gave them John the Baptist in their later years.

  • David spent roughly fifteen years between his anointing and his coronation.

And they’re not alone. A man lay beside the pool of Bethesda for thirty‑eight years before Jesus healed him (John 5:5). A woman suffered twelve years with a bleeding disease before she touched the hem of Christ’s robe (Luke 8:43‑48).

The pattern is unmistakable: God always came through. Not one promise failed, not one prayer was wasted, not one season of waiting was meaningless.

Scripture assures us that God shows no partiality (Acts 10:34). The same faithful God who fulfilled His word to the patriarchs still works on behalf of all who trust Him today—regardless of background, culture, or circumstance.

So if you find yourself waiting, take heart and do what these heroes did:

  • Keep believing like Abraham and Sarah, even when the promise seems delayed.

  • Keep praising like Joseph, even in the prison of hardship.

  • Keep seeking God’s face like the man by the pool who refused to stop hoping.

  • Keep standing firm like Zechariah, Elizabeth, and David—remaining loyal through long, silent seasons.

Declare God’s promises aloud; the enemy hates it when you do. Anchor your heart in His Word, resist discouragement, and stay steadfast. The God who never failed them will not fail you.

Then, watch with wonder as He turns waiting into fulfillment—doing the seeming impossible right before your eyes.

“Not one word has failed of all His good promise.” — 1 Kings 8:56

Praise Him now. The answer is coming!

Reflect & Pray:
Father, strengthen my faith in the waiting. Teach me to trust Your timing and to praise You before I see the outcome. Remind me that Your delays are not denials. Amen.

Thought for Today:
Waiting time is never wasted time when your heart rests in the faithfulness of God.
